Why NovaLash? “I had heard about NovaLash eyelash extensions from a friend and was really interested in the product.  As soon as I had my first set put on, I fell in LOVE with them—the way they highlighted my eyes, the curl and strength of the lashes, and the safety of the product.  I knew immediately that I wanted to be NovaLash Certified and that I would dedicate my business to this brand.”
What did you do before lash extensions? “I taught high school english and journalism.”
Biggest struggle to over come when starting out? “I’ve always been my toughest critic, so when I started applying NovaLashes, I had a hard time with the learning process.  I wanted my first set of lashes to be perfect.  I soon realized, however, that learning to artistically apply lashes takes a lot of practice and patience and in order to grow as a lash artist, I had to be fair to myself. “
How you felt after you won and what it means to you? “After I stopped jumping up and down and screaming, I felt like I was on cloud nine. I am very passionate about doing lashes and I love my job.  I was confident in my video and in my lash artistry, but the competition was tough.  There are so many amazing NovaLash lash artists and the videos were incredible.  I feel honored to have been selected and I’m very grateful to NovaLash for holding this competition.”

Favorite TV show?  Whose Line is it Anyway? I DVR it so that I can watch it whenever I need a good laugh.
Team Jacob or Team Edward? Not so much of a Twilight fan.  Harry Potter is more my style.

Favorite Client Story?  “I had a client come in because she had cut the majority of her lashes off with an eyelash curler and wanted to know if there was anything I could do. I applied extensions to all the lashes that had been cut. She was so happy-- it looked as if nothing had ever happened!”
Biggest Struggle to overcome when starting out? “Tediousness and time.”
How you felt after you won and what it means to you? “It felt unreal and I was elated!  I wasn't going to do it because I thought maybe I wasn't good enough, but I decided to ‘Just Do It’ and looked what happened! Winning meant a lot to me because it showed me that I am worth it and whenever you give a little extra effort to anything, it will definitely bring great results.”

What did you do before lash extensions? “Everything spa! I worked for an Italian skin care line and got to study in Italy! Then moved to working in the room doing everything from facials to tanning to makeup to management, inventory everything! I also specialize in advanced cosmetic peels and brow shaping.”
Biggest struggle to over come when starting out? ”I’m a perfectionist so It took time to hone my skills into a profitable time frame but now I do full sets in about an hour and 15min! Super speedy!”
How many regular clients do you apply lashes on each month? “I just had my boss get the numbers for me and even I was surprised! I service an AVERAGE of 80 clients a month, 20 clients a week and I only work 30 hours!! 50 of which are my regulars that WILL NOT see anyone else, some have been with me for 5 years! I have such a problem at Christmas trying to fit everyone into the 2 weeks before the holiday.  This year I had clients bribing me with front row bruins tickets, gifts, money and even one client bought me a CHRISTMAS TREE after I told her I couldn’t stay late cause I had to get one that night! She carried it to me in her high heals!! It made me realize that people will literally do anything for these lashes!”
How did you feel after you found out you were a winner? “I cried…I wanted this so bad I cant even tell you. This means the world to me. I worked so hard and really felt like I deserved it, so I just felt amazing. Sophy was THE sweetest person ever on the phone! She said so many nice things and had so many honest compliments. I didn’t do this for the money and prizes or for more clients (I can’t take anymore as is!) I did this all just to hear Sophy say she was proud of me and proud to have me on her team, and so I could say to myself…you did it girl! You’re the best! “
